Biography
As Director of Engineering, Michelle Wirth is responsible for all aspects of facilities engineering, distribution engineering, and process engineering. Michelle has over 18 years of experience dedicated to utility engineering and management and is passionate about safe, fresh, delicious water.
Having joined WaterOne in 2015 as the Assistant Director of Production, she previously served in local government as the Environmental Services Manager with the City of Olathe and with an engineering consulting firm. Michelle has a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University. Michelle is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Kansas and Missouri. She also holds a Class IV Water Operator License in the State of Kansas.
Michelle serves on several statewide and regional industry associations, boards, and committees dedicated to planning, policies, and management of water resources. Currently, she is serving on the Kansas Section American Water Works Association Board of Trustees. She represents Public Water Supply stakeholders on the Missouri Regional Advisory Committee (RAC), established by the Kansas Water Authority for long-range statewide water planning. Michelle is also WaterOne's representative on the Board of Directors of the Kansas River Water Assurance District and Treasurer for the Missouri River Public Water Supply Association.
